Introduction
When Goethe published his
Theorie of Colour for the first time in 1810, he was shure he would research
into colour in his time. Tho hundret years later his
Theorie of Colour has lost none of its explosivness and contemporary relevance.
On contary, in many fileds today Goethes approach is consideres to be a valid
foundation for the understanding of colour. In teaching, medicine, therapy,
colour theory an, of course, in art, Goethes approach is no longer dismissed. The group of artists
Farbraum, who have since their foundation 15 years ago interacted intensivly
with Goethes Theoty of Colours in their scientific and artistic work, have
evolved the projekt Imagination Colour for the 200th
anniversary of the Theory of Colour. So, just as Goethe never felt
a discrepancy between his scientific and artistic work, Imagination Colour
also follows his approach in its representation of the scientific and artistic
implicationa of the Theory of Colour. In this way, there emerged,
whole, from out of Goethe´s mind, a collaboration between science and the art
that offers ambitious entertainment value.
